Mike Milco, M. Div., LCSW, PhD
Staff Therapist
Mike Milco is a PhD in the School of Social Work at Loyola University Chicago. His dissertation topic focuses on the coping styles used by Angolan refugees. He received a Master of Social Work from Loyola University, a Master of Arts from Wheaton College and a Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Since 2005, he has been an associate professor at Moody Bible Institute in the Educational Ministries department. Michael teaches classes on counseling, theories of personality, social work practices, multicultural counseling and statistics. Formerly, Michael was in pastoral ministry for 22 years. For 13 of those years he was the pastor of families and small groups at the Moody Church.
Michael is known for his warm, engaging and relaxed approach to counseling. He is highly skilled in doing work in couples therapy. He has worked with adolescents and adults struggling with a wide range of emotional, behavioral and spiritual problems. He has experience in treating issues related to marital infidelity, men’s issues, depression, anxiety, grief and loss.
He is the author of Ethical Dilemmas in Church Leadership along with other various publications.
He enjoys, reading, working on cars and continuing to improve the home he lives in.
